Arkansas River to Lake Pueblo

The put-in for this is route on the Arkansas River, is at Highway 115 near Florence and the takeout is at the Sparrow site on the north side of Lake Pueblo.  An interesting outing and the first long trip in my Caper.  Gary took his sea kayak.  Not a difficult river but it did move right along and like many front range rivers downed trees are to be avoided.

I did OK till toward the end and simply ran out of steam...paddling flatwater in a whitewater canoe is not a good choice.

Even so, a nice day out !
