In The Shadow of Longs Peak
San Rafael Swell, South Side
Thanksgiving, November 2012
Thanksgiving and a short trip to the San Rafael Swell. We drove together to work on Wednesday and left Longmont at 1:30, driving thru Boulder and out Hwy 93 to Golden and I-70. West on i-70 with a stop at Copper at 3:30 so I could get my 4-pack. Then on to Palisade arriving at 6:15, so about 4 hours considering the Copper Stop took 30 minutes or less.
It’s unusually warm this year, about 70 degrees in Longmont. Copper was about 50.
We spent the night at Wine Country Inn, our favorite sleepover place on the way to Utah. We had a nice dinner at Irani’s in town (Palisade), a bit upscale but reasonably priced with an Asian Flair.
Now, I am sitting in the hallway with a morning cup of coffee, a nice place to write.
No additional writings on this trip but we did ding-n-dang canyon which was way over our head but saved by another family that knew the way. And Little Horse to the top. Ideally we would have come down Bell but not this time.
