Southwest Colorado Fall 2019

Another outing to Southwest Colorado, this time with my daughter Kari.  We drove down on 04 October 2020 and spent the first night in a motel.  The next morning we headed over to Lake McPhee and setup camp there

Our first destination was the Anasazi Museum near Dolores.  There are 2 ruins on the property that the editor of  'The Dominguez-Escalante Journal' suggests these might be the ones mentioned in the entry for 17

August 1775.

Our final outing and longest hike for this trip is Sand Canyon starting at the South End

Today's outing was to the Sand Canyon Pueblo which is at the north end of Sand Canyon

Our first destination today is the Lowry Ruin then we headed to Hovenweep National Monument just over the state line in Utah.

07 October 2019 -08 October 2019

We spent 2 days at Mesa Verde.  On the second we went on 2 guided tours (well worth it) in addition to roadside site seeing.
