In The Shadow of Longs Peak

Barr Lake

25 November 2o22

A bike ride around Barr Lake.  The sun is out, the air is warm.  There is a footbridge to cross.  A horseman is trotting his horse back and forth the footbridge to acclimate him to footbridges.  A pretty horse that I should have taken a photo of!

Once across to the gravel trail, I turn south.  The trail is flat and smooth.  There are exit points off the trail, headed toward the lake, many with observation decks for viewing birds.  The water is very far away from the edge and I wonder how full the reservoir is in spring and early summer.

About halfway around is an irrigation works.

Then on to the dam where I take the high road though there is a low alternative.

As I cross the dam, there of lots of waterfowl in the lake and they all take off at once!  What a sight and sound and they passed before I could turn the camera back on.

A good day, great ride that took 2 hours.
